The Tapasya of the soul and prior lifetimes. It is supposed to burn and perform an alchemy of that karma, rectifying it so you benefit from the good effects while the bad effects burn. It does this to any that is tied to you now from where ever past or whatever it came from.
Tapasya, derived from the Sanskrit root “Tap” meaning “to heat” or “to burn,” refers to spiritual practices involving austerity and self-discipline aimed at purifying the soul and burning away past karma. In Hinduism, Tapasya is a means to attain spiritual growth and liberation by undergoing voluntary hardships to cleanse oneself of impurities and past actions.
